Our company was founded in 1944 originally for developing and marketing products based on scientific work carried out at Kobayasi Institute of Physical Research. "Acoustics is a study for serving the well-being of life" has always been the motto representing our managerial philosophy since then, on which basis we devoted ourselves to establish Rion's original technology and to develop useful products for the society.

While our products at the inception were related to phonograph for the most part, its range has grown to cover the following four main fields: hearing instruments,medical equipment primarily for otorhinolaryngology, sound and vibration measuring instruments including seismometers, and particle counters for monitoring particle contamination in air and liquid.

In order to provide means and solutions for your needs we will continue to exert all efforts for further research and development with the fundamental concept represented by a phrase "scientific pursuit of human ideals" which may contribute to the community in the following areas:
