Vol.62023/1I’ve served on the Editorial Committee since the days of RTJ’s predecessor journal, Shake Hands. When we’re asked what we think about articles in the field of particle counters, it isn’t always easy to give a straightforward answer, because the relevant information that can be disclosed and the customers we can introduce in our journal are limited. Our committee works to find ideal solutions. It’s often hard to communicate these circumstances to those outside the particle counter industry, but we plan to continue to introduce all the ways in which particle counters can be used and as many examples of applications as possible to promote awareness about this industry. [Maeda]Thank you for reading RTJ. I joined the Editorial Committee April this year, which meant jumping from reader status to creator status. I found that many people at Rion are involved in the making of this magazine. We want to tell the world about Rion’s wonderful technologies. Every issue represents a condensation of the passions of all those involved. We’re committed to presenting fascinating content for all our readers and look forward to your continuing interest in RTJ. [Kuroda]Editorial ForewordCover Art: ViscometerRion manufactures various types of measuring instruments. What caught my eye this time was this cylindrical rotational viscometer. Before seeing this instrument, I had no idea how the viscosity of liquids was measured. Seeing the actual product brought home the lofty standards of Rion’s measurement technologies. I’ve tried to depict the measurement conducted by the instrument in a straightforward manner, with the simple arrangement of the buttons on the main unit supported by its stand and accompa-nied by a rotor.By Yusuke Kitajima (woodblock artist)Completed the graduate course in block printing at Musashino Art University in 2014. His distinctive approach, taking familiar everyday items as subjects, combines the techniques of wood-block printing and monotyping to create a single unique print.PROJECT STORY A Documentary of Product Development at RionBehind the Development of Japan’s First Particle CounterRION QUALITY Rion’s Pride—Our Skills and Passion for QualityMeisters of Super Small Hearing AidsExploring the Amplitude of Their Mastery SkillsFROM NOW ON The Now and Future of RionFUTURE TALK SESSION A talk session with our core staff engineersFuture Technologies and Rion’s FutureTHE PATENT Patents Acquired by Rion—The Patent Registration NAVIPart 1: Waterproof structure of a microphoneTALES OF RION See and Hear Tales of Rion Products and Daily Life!Estimating Seismic DamageEXPRESS NEWSRion welcomes Norwegian acoustic instrumentation manufacturer Norsonic AS into the groupOUR FAVORITE TOWN, KOKUBUNJI RION Staff Show You AroundStrolls Around Kokubunji[A Darts Bar in Kokubunji Known Only to Those in the Know!]ACTIVITYRion’s [Activity Report]EPILOGUE SCIENCE, SCIENCE!
