When I was a child, these headphones had cords attached, but technological advancements have now rendered them wireless. Their design has also become more stylish. Unlike headphones used for listening to mu-sic, these have handles to make it easier to put them in place and remove them, with a mechanism allow-ing automatic fitting of the headphones to the shape of the head. The more I look at them, the more the design tickles the artist in me.By Yusuke Kitajima (woodblock artist)Completed the graduate course in block printing at Musashino Art University in 2014. His distinctive ap-proach, taking familiar everyday items as subjects, combines the techniques of woodblock printing and monotyping to create a single unique print.CopyrightⒸ RION All Right ReservedEditorial ForewordI have been placed in charge of this issue, “Rion Beyond the Sea.” During the interviews, I was impressed by the enthusiasm of the local staff in Vietnam, who eagerly introduced me to their work in Japanese. I appreciated the pride they showed when introducing our products in their home country, and the vibrant energy they exuded was simply amazing. I find myself pleasantly surprised in making new discoveries with each interview I do for RTJ. My insatiable appetite for pursuing such experiences is what motivates me as a member of the editorial board. (Kano)This is the fifth time I’ve overseen an article. My first was the one in RTJ Vol. 1, “Can Sound be Transmitted Via Cartilage?” Now, this article in Vol. 7 will be my last as a member of the editorial board. I covered the Rionet Circle, a project I have been directly involved with, which was an assignment of deep emotional significance for me. While issues around the medical equipment we offer may be sensitive, once again I felt the passion and commitment of the staff I interviewed. I hope my article manages to convey the enthusiasm we have for the topic. (Nishimura)No portion of this journal may be reprinted or redistributed without prior consent.2023/502 0610121416171820Vol.7
