I joined the editorial board just this year. Previously, I served on the editorial board (the subcommittee for papers) of an academic journal. This is my first time serving on a committee that involves planning a publication, so I was a bit anxious at the start. But when I accompanied my colleagues for an interview about packaging technologies for the Rion Quality section, I was fascinated to hear stories about the dif-ficulties and challenges in a field with which I was unfamiliar. This experience makes me eager to see how the articles about the interview will turn out. I hope you’re just as excited about reading the article as I am. (Morimoto)This is the first issue I’ve been involved with. Part 1 of the series FROM MY BOOKSHELF: Recommendations from our CEO, which began in the previous issue, introduced the books of Shinichi Hoshi. During his life, Shinichi Hoshi produced more than 1,001 works. In his later years, he worked on rewriting his works to revise expressions that had become outdated over time so that his works would continue to be read well into the future. This year marks the 80th anniversary of Rion. How many products has Rion introduced so far? I’d like to showcase our company’s ongoing efforts to refine our technologies so they remain useful to the world for as long as possible. (Adachi)Cover Art: A noise dosimeter and an aircraft marshaller The noise dosimeter might look like any random gadget, but its small and lightweight body fits in the palm of your hand and is perfectly designed for high on-site functionality. It’s packed with the latest tech-nologies to prevent noise-related health hazards for workers in noisy environments. The illustration on the back cover shows a marshaller guiding an air-plane. We selected this as one of the scenarios in which noise dosim-eters are currently in use.Yusuke Kitajima (woodblock artist)Completed the graduate course in block printing at Musashino Art University in 2014. His distinctive approach, which takes familiar everyday items as subjects, combines the techniques of woodblock printing and monotyping to create a single unique print.CopyrightⒸ RION All Right ReservedQuantifying EV QualityAtsushi Nunome, Consultant for Pharmaceutical Water SystemsUKRion’s Activity Report2024/902 061012141516181920Vol.11
