Our exhibition boothRion engineer’s presentationOur exhibition boothFPT technology presentation and staff explaining the systemThe Sixth Joint Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America and the Acoustical Society of Japan was held in Honolulu (USA) over a five-day period from December 1–5, 2025. This conference for joint research presentations is held every ten years by the Acoustical Society of America and the Acoustical Society of Japan. It is regarded as an opportunity to exchange ideas and deepen research insights in various fields.This event featured more than 1,700 presentations. A new session was estab-lished on neural network-based signal processing, a field that has seen dramatic advances in recent years. Three members from our R&D sections attended the event and each delivered three presentations on noise issues related to our environmental instrument business. Additionally, our booth set up as part of the corporate exhibition held at the venue showcased various products related to the presentation themes, including the NorCloud Noise Monitoring System, the Rion-Environmental Monitoring System (R-EMS), and the NL-53 precision sound level meter. Here the engineers who gave the presentations engaged in lively exchanges with visitors from various countries, responding to technical questions and discussing topics including specific sound and vibration mea-surement methods applicable in each country, applications for estimating noise arrival direction, and measurement accuracy and frequency ranges. These presentations and the corporate exhibition helped promote awareness of Rion’s contribution to measurement technologies among researchers. It was also a valuable opportunity for us to learn about the latest research trends, which gave us insights and inspiration for our own R&D.We plan to apply the knowledge and inspiration gained from this meeting to our future R&D efforts and to continue working to create measurement tech-nologies and solutions that contribute to society. (Tomoaki Chou)SEMICON® JAPAN was held at Tokyo Big Sight from December 17 to 19, 2025. The event is one of the largest international events of its kind focusing on semiconductors, the core of the modern electronics industry. It also covers a wide range of cutting-edge fields of application, including AI, gaming, robotics, mobility, space, and medicine. Total attendance over the three days exceeded 120,000, both from Japan and abroad, making it an even greater success than last year’s event.At the Rion exhibition booth, we showcased the KS-20F liquid-borne par-ticle counter, our flagship model, alongside a wide range of models designed to measure chemical solutions, pure water, and gases. We also presented seis-mometers on display, which are gaining attention as essential to disaster pre-vention strategies such as those for AI data centers. We introduced our products and technologies to over 350 visitors who stopped by our booth. In addition to exhibiting products, we held technical presentations to demonstrate Flow Particle Tracking (FPT), a new particle measurement method currently being developed at Rion. Members of the R&D team handled the demonstrations at the booth.
